Jane Mather

Jane was born in 1769 in Darcy Lever and her baptism took place on June 4th, 1769 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

Jane's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Betty Thornley. She had five brothers and two sisters, named James, John, Thomas, Richard, Peter, Betty and Mercy. She was the oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 74 in September 1843 in Bolton. Her burial was on September 4th, 1843 at St. Peter's (Bolton).³⁴

General Notes
- Jane was the daughter of Thomas and Betty, baptised at St Peter, Bolton in 1769. Jane's father left "2 cottages in Darcy Lever, in possession of himself and Joseph Warburton, to daughter Jane Fohold (who has three children)". "Fohold" appears to be an error.
  
  In 1831, Jane was NOT at Old Acres. However in 1805 (poor list) Richard Mather was an occupier (one of many) at Old Acres. In the 1796 valuation, Richard Mather was occupier at 46 Old Acres, Bradshaw Gate, West Side.
  
  In 1841, Jane (70), with her assumed niece or granddaughter Alice (15), living at Old Acres, E Bolton.
  
  Jane died in 1843, East Bolton, aged 74
  
  Note: Old Acres in Bolton Town Center was later (about 1885) renamed Great Moor Street.
