12 Sep 1824 Betty Mather, Spinster of Darcy Lever, had a daughter Alice baptised, but this is probably another, possibly a niece.

Betty and James were married in a religious ceremony on February 5th, 1797 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich) by William Marsden and witnessed by John Yates & Edward Bedford.
