Hannah was born in 1820 in Darcy Lever and her baptism took place on August 27th, 1820 at St. Mary (Deane).1 2  Hannah's father was James Flitcroft and her mother was Mary Cartwright. She had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, James, Sarah, Mary and Happy.  She was the youngest of the seven children.
