Mary died the following year. 1767 - 1834 Mary Tomlinson 67 67 According to the headstone, Mary was born about 1769 (65 when died), but baptism was in 1767, so 33 when she married William and 67 when died.

Probably sister of Thomas (butcher) and Martha Tomlinson of Barnhill, Broxton.  Also William Tomlinson (servant) and Martha his wife.

In 1826 Mary Brereton of Broughton was sentanced to 14 days in Jail for larceny (theft). This may be another!

The Harthill burial rercord for Mary Brereton, buried 23 Dec 1934, aged 65 was signed off by William Brereton, both her husband and Church Warden.

In 1841, Thomas and Martha (65 and 60) were farming at Coleshill, Northop, Flintshire with their four youngest; Randle (25), John (20), Margaret (20), and Ann (20).

In 18i51, Thomas (77) was living with his son Rabdle and family at Galchog, Northop.
1778 - 1845 Martha Carr 67 67 Martha was only 20 when she married, so her father Thomas Carr has to consent to her marriage.  Elizabeth Carr (possibly her mother) was witness to the marriage.

In 1845, Martha of Galchog, Northop, wife of Thomas Tomlinson died and was buried at Northop.
1770 - 1783 Phebe Tomlinson 13 13 1779 - 1857 William Tomlinson 78 78 William lived in Liverpool.  There is a baptism 17 April 1803:  "Charles son of William Tomlinson of Liverpool, servant, and Martha his wife, born in Broxton March 24 1803"

6 June 1802, William Thomlison, labourer, married Martha Johnson at Chaster St  Oswalds (not Malpas)

In April 1803, William was a servant in Liverpool (probably a farm servant or labourer as unlikely to be a house servant if married) when had Charles baptised.  However Charles was born in Broxton, only a month earlier.
1782 - 1855 Elizabeth (Betty) Tomlinson 72 72 Elizabeth was baptised Betty Tomlinson

7 Jul 1814, Elizabeth married James Berkenhout at St Oswalds, Malpas.  They were both from Broxton.  James died in 1818, soon after their marriage and before their son John was born.

James was a Bank Clerk and they lived and worked in Chester, also St Oswalds, but of Chester, not Malpas.

In 1841, Elizabeth Berkenhout (50) was living with John Tomlinson (60, farmer) at Broxton.  With them was Pheobe Tomlinson (40), and John Berkenhout (20), a butcher.

In 1851, Elizabeth Berkenhout (67, mother) were with her son John Tomlinson Berkenhout and his family.  Her niece Phebe Tomlinson (56) was also living with the family.  Pheobe was orphaned and deaf and dumb.
1786 - 1790 Patrick Tomlinson 3 3 1747 - 1771 Sarah Brereton 24 24 1 April 1771, Sarah Brereton of Oldcastle married Randle Tomlinson of Cuddington.

Randle's marriage to Sarah lasted less than three months before she died.  It took 6 years for Randle to re-marry after Sarah died.

29 Dec 1777, Randle Tomlinson of Cuddington married Martha Cartwright of Shocklach at Malpas St Oswald's.  (Also 5 Oct 1777 another Randle Tomlinson married Hannah  Nixon at Bunbury).

NOTE: THe Randle Tomlinson, Yeoman that died in Dec 1806 has a sister Sarah Minshall, executor of his Will.

In 1851, Thomas, aged 53 was an Ag. Lanourer, married to Sarah with Eliza (10), Elizabeth (8) and Edward (5).
1797 - 1844 Charles Tomlinson 46 46 Charles (45) was in Haslindton, near Nantwich, farming in 1841.  He was probably married to a much younger Elizabeth (25) and had Ann (15), Sarah (10), Charles (8), Mary (5), Hannah (4) and Elizabeth (6 mo).  Elizabeth may have been his daughter (unmarried?) wih a grandaughter Elizabeth (6 mo). ~1784 Peter Downs 1704 - 1773 Thomas Tomlinson 68 68 Thomas may have had a brother Richard, as both had sons Randle Tomlinson.

7 Nov 1729, Thomas Tomlinston of Kiddington (i.e. Coddington?) married Mary Ollerhead of Overton were married at Whitwell by licence.

After Thomas and Mary were married they lived at Newton near Malpas.

After 1737 and Thomas's death, they lived at Cuddington, where John and the following children were born.

13 Feb 1840, (another?) Elizabeth Tomlinson (born Huxley, 1794), daughter of Thomas a farmer, form Alsagar, in the parish of Bartholomay, Cheshire married John Beresford at Wybunbury.  Witnesses were John Brereton and Hannah Tomlinson.

In 1841, Elizabeth and John Beresford (both 45) were living at Broxton with James Bereforrd (10). John was an Ag. Labourer.

In 1851, John, a publican, and Elizabeth (both 57) were at Huxley, Waverton with James Bereford (23, a shoe maker).

In 1861, John and Elizabeth (68 & 67) were atill at Huxley, John an Ag Labourer.  They were living in the Cottage next to the Farmers Arms, run by Samuel Dutton, (43, Inn Keeper). Elizabeth was born at Huxley, and was deaf.

4 June 1842, Ann Tomlinson of Galchog married Edward Wjhitley, a farmer at Northop Hall.
1822 John Tomlinson John, baptised 1822, was the only (and youngest) child to be baptised at Coddington. His close sisteer Ann was baptised at nearby Tattenhall (which is where John ecorded his birth on the 1871 census).

In 1841,  Randle (25), John (20), Margaret (20), and Ann (20) were still with their parents, Thomas and Martha farming at Coleshill, Northop, Flintshire.

In 1861, John and Elizabeth (39 & 42) were at Owlets Hall, Ewlow with Martha (11), Anabella (9), John (7), Jessie (4) and Edward (1).

In 1871 John and Elizabeth (50 & 53) were living at Ewloe Town with sons John and Edward (17 & 11).

John and Margaret were on the same 74 acre farm in 1861, now with 5 children and Hannah and Margaret Tomlinson (74 & 41, visitors)

In 1861, George Brereton Jnr (Margaret's cousin) was at Fullers Moor.

In 1881, John and Margaret (61 & 60) had retired from farming and were living with their son John J Berkenhout at Chadderton.

The father is unknown, but possibly George.

In 1841, Pheobe (40) was with her assumed uncle John Tomlinson, a farmer at Broxton.

In 1851, Pheobe Tomlinson (56, unmarried); Deaf and Dumb, born Broxton, was a boarder with John and Margaret Tomlinson at their farm at Fullers Moor, Broxton.  Pheobe would be Margaret's second cousin.

In 1855, Phoebe Tomlinson of Bickerton died, aged 61 (about the 14th Feb, just before her birthday)

The family only had two surviving children (of four), and they were Luke and Grace.

11 Sep 1815 Another John Tomlinson of Acton married Martha Platt at Great Budworth, Cheshire, England. They lived at Daresbury

1809 to 1817, John and Martha family from Malpas had a five daughters, all baptised at Maplas.

By 1841, all of John's family had left home.  John was a farmer at Broxton with his widowed sister Elizabeth Berkenhous and her son John.  They had three servants.

In 1783, John and Elizabeth had a son Edward.

In 1861, George Brereton Jnr (Margaret's cousin) was at Fullers Moor.

In 1881, John and Margaret (61 & 60) had retired from farming and were living with their son John J Berkenhout at Chadderton.

In 1861, Pheobe was living with her married daughter Ann Wilson in Liverpool.  She died in Liverpool in 1862, and is buried at Birhenhead.
