4x Great Grandparents
Randle Tomlinson from Abenbury Fawr (later Ridley Wood), is the same family at John Eddowes & Mary Whitefield (in 1878, their daughter Mary Ann was living at Ridley Wood)
Randle left a Will naming his sons Thomas and John and 5 daughters; Elizabeth and Sarah (spinsters) and Mary, Jane, and Ann (all married).
Thomas, Elizabeth, Sarah, John and David Rowland all died at Ridley Wood. John's Will also connects the Eddowes family
Edwards family from Hungmore Lane (between Wrexham, Gresford and Holt)
Common Wood is also here (with EDDOWES connections)
Alternate marriage of Ann Whitfield
Not Thomas and Ann Maddocks from Capenhurst in 1871
Two possible Whitefield families in Denbighshire:
Another Randle Tomlinson, married to Hannah (not Anne)
Children born: Bronington, Hanmer, Flintshire
Another Tomlinson family from Holt. James was the Parish Clerk
No DNA matches to tree owners of this family
Another John Tomlinson from Biston.

In 1860, Elizabeth "Davies" married Thomas Rogers at Wrexham (there is no marriage for an Elizabeth Rowland, so perhaps they divorced).
In 1871, Elizabeth and Thomas had 3 children, but also Walter Rogers, grandson, aged 4, so Thomas must have had children from a previous marriage.

Sarah is probably younger than Elizabeth (as allways named after her in Randle's Will). They were spinsters as the other daughters in the Will have husbands.
In 1845, brother John died, and left Jane the farm and income for the rest of her surviving life (which was only 3 years).
Died 1848 at Ridley Wood, Holt, aged 76 (as buried at Marchwiel with Thomas and John, also of Ridley Wood). Sarah left her estate to her nephew David Rowland, who was residing with her at Ridley Wood.

David was orphaned and possibly disabled and not expected to marry, as he appears to have been supported by his grandfather, aunt Sarah and uncles in their Wills. He is the son of Anne Tomlinson and David Roland (baptised 1792)
In 1824, David Rowland, grandson of Randle Tomlinson, was left £20 in his Will (today worth about £2,500). He also died at Ridley Wood.
After John Tomlinson died he lived with his aunt Sarah at Ridley Wood and she left hime everything. However, both died in 1848, so Sarah's Will was administered by John Rowland (labourer of Marchwiel) and Thomas Hughes, an Inn Keeper at Marchwiel.

Thomas was the second to be baptised (adter Elizabeth), and was baptised at Holt, not Abenbury like the later children. Also, the mother was recorded as Mary. However, evenryhing else points to Thomas as son of Randel and Anne. His father was Randle (who was already married to Anne)
Died at Ridley Wood, aged 81. He is buried alone, so probably never married, at St Deniol and St Marcella Churchyard, Marchwiel.

It is assumed that Mary, Elizabeth and Hester are three sisters as they all married by licence at Gresford.
This is not the daughter of Randel and Ann, as she was a spinster in Randle's Will. There are several Elizabeth Tomlinsons, and this Elizabeth may be the daughter of John and Elizabeth Tomlinson, baptised 23 Oct 1757 at Holt (based on one distant DNA match).

Born 1761, Mary was the first child, baptised daughter of Randle and Ann, born a year after they married.
1789-97 Mary Tomlinson's possible sisters Hester, Elizabeth and Jane, all married at Gestford (the only other Denbighshire marriages around these time).
In 1798, just before she was married, Mary Tomlinson of the township of Erlas paid 9s 8d Land Tax John Tomlinson also paid 3s 4d to the same landlord.
In 1824, described as married to John Woodfin, Mary was left one shilling in her father's Will (as were each of the three married daughters).
22 Jun 1799, Mary (of the parish of Gersford) married John Whitfield of Is-y-Coed. They continued to live is Erlas, where each of the 3 children were born.
In 1842, Mary died at Caca Dutton and is buried at Marchwiel (2 miles SE of Wrexham). Her son Thomas and husband John are also buried here.
John
Woodfin
Mary's father Randle has his daughter as Mary, wife of John Woodfin in his Will on 1824. However, his son John also refers to Mary as Mary Whitefield (and also her two daughters). John Woodfin is probably the same person as John Whitefield (who mary married in 1799, but could be an unmarried partner).
