Thomas was born in March 1760 in Malpas and his baptism took place on March 7th, 1760 at St. Oswalds (Malpas).1  Thomas' father was Thomas Tomlinson and his mother was Elizabeth Lloyd. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Robert, Richard, James, William, Charles, Mary, Sarah, Ruth, Elizabeth, Martha and Eleanor.  He was the oldest of the twelve children.
