Edward was born in 1860 in Mold.1  Edward's father was John Tomlinson and his mother was Elizabeth Davies.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Tomlinson and Martha Carr. He had a brother and three sisters, named John, Martha, Anabella and Jessie.  He was the youngest of the five children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named William, Mary and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 62 in 1922.

‌Edward and Mary were married in a religious ceremony on August 6th, 1881 in Hope (Flint).2   They had a daughter named Margaret.  There are possibly more children.
