John, baptised 1822, was the only (and youngest) child to be baptised at Coddington. His close sisteer Ann was baptised at nearby Tattenhall (which is where John ecorded his birth on the 1871 census).
In 1841, Randle (25), John (20), Margaret (20), and Ann (20) were still with their parents, Thomas and Martha farming at Coleshill, Northop, Flintshire.
In 1861, John and Elizabeth (39 & 42) were at Owlets Hall, Ewlow with Martha (11), Anabella (9), John (7), Jessie (4) and Edward (1).
In 1871 John and Elizabeth (50 & 53) were living at Ewloe Town with sons John and Edward (17 & 11).
