Ann was born in April 1820 in Tattenhall and her baptism took place there on April 22nd, 1820.1  Ann's father was Thomas Tomlinson and her mother was Martha Carr.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Tomlinson and Phoebe Owens. She had five brothers and six sisters, named William, Thomas, John, Randle, John, Elizabeth, Phoebe, Sarah, Martha, Martha and Margaret.
