Martha was born in 1812 in Harthill and her baptism took place on November 15th, 1812 at All Saints, Harthill.¹

Birth Notes

Martha's father was Thomas Tomlinson and her mother was Martha Carr. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Tomlinson and Phoebe Owens. She had five brothers and six sisters, named William, Thomas, John, Randle, John, Elizabeth, Phoebe, Sarah, Martha, Margaret and Ann. Thomas and Martha were twins.
