Jessie was born in May 1857 in Mold.1  Jessie's father was John Tomlinson and her mother was Elizabeth Davies.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Tomlinson and Martha Carr. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Edward, Martha and Anabella.  She was the second youngest of the five children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named William, Mary and Elizabeth.  She died at the age of 7 in January 1865.  She was buried on January 2nd, 1865 in Hawarden.2
