  We may have the wrong Mary.  Death and Burial records show Mary was 65 when she died, so born 1769.
  
  In the Brereton book, it is reported that Mary was born in Malpas in 1779, but this is 10 years different to her age at death (65, so born 1769).  1769 of Barthill.
  
  The marriage record confirms Mary Tomlinson is from Broxton.
  
  Possible Baptisms:
  20-May-1767 Mary Daughter of Thomas and Pheobe Tomlinson of Coddington
  
  20-May-1765 Mary Daughter of Ralph and Letita Tomlinson (Malpas)
  
  06-Aug-1775 Mary Daughter of John and Martha Tomlinson of Tushingham
  
  Also, she may have been the niece (not daughter) of Randle Tomlinson, an important farmer of Malpas who was witness to her marriage.

  Mary is buried at Harthill, in the same grave as John and Elizabeth Brereton of Bolesworth Hall.  John was probably her oldest son, and Elizabeth his wife. 
  
  The headstone inscription reads: "In the Memory of Mary Wife of William Brereton of Harthill who died Dec 19th 1834 Aged 65 Years".  See reference and picture.
  
  The Harthill burial rercord for Mary Brereton, buried 23 Dec 1934, aged 65 was signed off by William Brereton, both her husband and Church Warden.
