Patrick's father was Thomas Tomlinson and his mother was Phoebe Owens.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Tomlinson and Mary Otterhead. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, William, Mary, Phebe and Betty.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 3 in March 1790 in Broxton.  He was buried on March 17th, 1790 at St. Oswalds (Malpas).¹
