John was born in September 1864 in Salford.1  John's father was John William Havers and his mother was Isabella Skiffington.  His paternal grandparents were John Havers and Phoebe Tomlinson. He had a sister named Mary. He had an adopted brother named Sarah. He had a half-sister named Anne.  He died at the age of 72 in 1936.

‌John and Catherine were married in a religious ceremony on October 10th, 1886 in Manchester. They had a son named Edward.  The family line is yet to be completed.
