Edward was born in November 1737 in Malpas and his baptism took place on November 25th, 1737 at St. Oswalds (Malpas).1  Edward's father was John Tomlinson and his mother was Ellen (Eleanor) Clutton. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, James, Randle, Peter, Ellin and Sarah.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.  He died as an infant at 3 months old in February 1738 in Malpas.  He was buried on February 19th, 1738 at St. Oswalds (Malpas).2 2
