1825 John Mather In 1841, John was with his father Jacob, but not 1851 so its assumed he married (no matching Bolton marriage).

25 July 1847, John Mather, son of Jacob a warper married Mary Ann Wilson at Didsbury, St James, Lancashire.  Both were living at Withington.

In 1850, Harried's births was at Hallifax. After that the births of MATHER+WILSON ao Prescot (between Liverpool and St Helens) are another family (Henry & Betty eho married at Prescot in 1853).

In 1851, John (26, Born Bolton) and Mary Ann (25, born Stockport) were living at 5 Sawson Streey, Salford with James (3) and Harriet (9mo)

In 1871, John and Mary A Mather (45 & 44) were at 7 Herbert Street, Cheetham, Lancashire with son James (28).

In 1881, John and Mary Ann Mather (55 & 54) were still at 7 Herbert Street, Cheetham.  Son James was still with them, now married to Mary (from Scotland) with 3 children.
1802 - 1864 Jacob Mather 62 62 In 1798 Jacob Mather paid rent at Breightmet.  This may have been his father.

Jacob was born about 1802 in Bolton, possibly the son of Jacob. There is no baptism for Jacob, and likewise Jacob Snr was widowed, and also no first marriage or baptism records.

In 1841, Jacob was 35, a cotton washer at Crook Street, E Bolton with Sarah (30) and John (15).  Also present were William and Alice Taylor (both 25), possibly related. Neighbours were John and Mary Buckley (65 & 60), the Oil Sheet Maker.

In 1843, Jacob's wife Sarah died in 1843, so in 1851 he was a widower (49), living in lodgings at 22 Moor Lane, Western Bolton.

By 1861, Jacob (58, born Bolton) was a Cotton Hand, working and lodging at Mayfield Terrace, Mayfield, Staffordshire with Joseph Dagnall (23 a cotton hand) and wife Betsey (23, born Bolton), not Jacob's daughter, as  Joseph Dagnall married Elizabeth Pollitt Q1/1859 in Ashborne.

There are so few records for Jacob, it seem likely he went by another name, probably James, a common alternative.
1826 Mary Ann Wilson Mary Ann Wilson from Withington was the daughter of Joseph Wilson, a Block Printer.  She married John Mather, son of Jacob Mather (a Warper) in 25 Jul 1847 at Didsbury. 1847 - <1909 James Mather 62 62 James was a Brass Founder or Finisher (on marriage and childrens baptism records).

10 Sep 1877, James Mather (29) a Brass Founder of Boundary Street (Manchester), son of John Mather a Warper, married Mary Lambie (31) from Ayreshire, Scotland, daughter of John Lambie a Tailor at Manchester Cathederal.

In 1881, James and Mary (33 & 34) were living at 7 Herbert Street, Cheetham with John's parents John and Mary Ann Mather and his three children.

In 1909, James's son William, a Laundry Man of New Mills married a much older Louise Morton.  His father (i.e. this James) was a brass founder and deceased.
1850 - 1927 Harriet Mather 76 76 1846 Mary Lambie Mary was born Sorn, Ayrshire, Scotland, the daughter of John Lambie and Elizabeth Patrick.

In 1879, her first daughter was named Elizabeth Patrick Mather (after her mother).

In 1881, James and Mary (33 & 34) were living at 7 Herbert Street, Cheetham with John's parents John and Mary Ann Mather and his three children.
1878 John Mather 1879 - 1964 Elizabeth Patrick Mather 84 84 Born 16 Oct 1879 and baptised 9 May 1880 "Elizabeth Mather" (although birth registered as Elizabeth Patrick), daughter of James a Brass Founder and Mary.

In 1939, Elizabeth P Mather, Single, born 16 Oct 1879, was at 5 Weld Road, Southport, a paid companion to Edward and Sarah M Entwistle and family.

17 July 1841, David & James born 1 April were baptised together, sons of James a Brass Finisher and Mary of Cheetham.

Both twins died young, about August or September soon after they were baptised.

28 Nov 1909, "William Mather" (26), a Laundry Man of New Mills married a much older Louise Edith Morton (42) of 22 Regent Square at Salford.  His father James, a brass founder, was deceased.  Also in Q4, 1909 another William Henry Mather married Catherine McLoughlin at St Mathias, Salford.

In 1901, William, Marian and Alexander Mather were living with their uncle and aunt Elizaneth (Scottish) and John Williams.

In 1911, William and Louise Edith Mather (27 & 42) had been married 1 year.  No Children.  They were at  Disley, on the Stockport & Derbyshire border.  His brother John Mather (31), a Lauindryman, his son James Cyril Mather (3) and sister Elizabeth (29) were also living at Disley.  These are William's siblings.
1887 Alexander Mather Alexander was born at Prestwich.  Alexander Stweart from Bradford, merchant, is another.

In 1901, William, Marian and Alexander Mather were living with their uncle and aunt Elizaneth (Scottish) and John Williams.

It was another Alexander Mather born 17 Feb 1890 that married Sarah Ann Darlington.

In 1939, Alexander is married and a Tram Conductor at 30 Glossop Street, Leicester. (His DOB confirms correct person). He is living (lodging?) with Hylda B Parker (DOB 5 Nov 85), a single woman.
