Amos Mather

Amos was born on March 2nd, 1829 in Edgworth and his baptism took place on May 31st, 1829 at Edgworth Independent.¹

Amos' father was Solomon Mather and his mother was Mary (Mally) Grime. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Mather and Alice Fielding. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Isaac, Solomon, James, Betty, Alice, Catherine and Fanny. He was the seventh oldest of the eight children.

  There is another Amos Mather, 4 years younger, born 1838, the son of James and Martha who married Ann Briggs. Another Amos b.1838, son of Thomas, married Hannah Hullock in Q2/1863 at Walmsley Christ church. The other Amos married Ann Briggs at Bolton St Peter the same year.
  
  What happened to Amos? Amos Meader (born 9 Aug 1832) and buried 1899 in Clinton, NY is another person. He may have died an infant!
  
  In Sep 1870, there is a marriage between Amos Mather and Margaret Howarth at Blackburn. This Amos was born about 1843 at Mellor, Blackburn and died there in 1892
