James A Mather

James' father was Isaac Mather and his mother was Sarah Smith. His paternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Mary (Mally) Grime; his maternal grandparents were Henry Smith and Betty Rigby. He had two brothers and five sisters, named William, Henry, Mary, Elizabeth, Susannah, Mary and Sarah. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He had a half-sister named Fanny. He died due to Apoplexy Certified at the age of 72 on March 3rd, 1919 in Pennsylvania (PA).²

- According to James A Mather's death cert, he was a printer.
  
  One the PA death record, his mother is named as Margaret Smith, not Sarah Smith. The informant (Mrs Mary Mather) must have got it wrong (Sarah had died 22y earlier)
  
  James A Mather had a son James Edward Mather and through him there is a DNA match to Paul Mather and John Eastaugh (but not me).
