John and Catherine were married in a religious ceremony on November 23rd, 1845 at Manchester Cathedral witnessed by Josh Langshuse & Eleanor Jones.1 They had five sons and five daughters, named Thomas, William, Edward, Frederick, Ernest, Ellen, Elizabeth, Alice, Fanny and Mary. There are no more children.

Known to be at Lower House, next to Toppings, Turton in 1841, aged 15 (rounded).
Only closley matching baptism is Catherine, daughter of James and Sarah Mather of Newton Heath, baptised 11 July 1824.
This is NOT the Catherine Mather, daughter of Thomas and Catherine from Windle. In 1841, she was aged 10 with her parents in Prescot and still there in 1851, aged 22. This is the Cathereine that married William Deane in 1852 at Farnworth. Windle is 2 miles NW of St Helens.
