Louis was born on April 25th, 1214 in Chãateau De Poissy, Poissy, Isle De France.  Louis' father was King Louis Eliganius ("the Lion") Capet VIII and his mother was Princess Blanche of Castile.  His paternal grandparents were King Philip Augustus Capet II and Isabella of Hainault; his maternal grandparents were King Alfonso ("the Noble") VIII of Castile and Princess Eleanor Plantagenet. He had two brothers named Robert and Charles.  He died at the age of 56 on August 25th, 1270 in Tunis, Africa.  He was buried in 1271 in Saint Denis, Isle De France, France.


Louis' family with Marguerite Berenger of Provence

‌Louis and Marguerite were married in a religious ceremony in Sens, Yonne, France.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Philip, Robert, Marguerite and Agnes.
