Adelaide was born about 1092 in Savoie.  Adelaide's father was Count Humbert ("the Fat") de Maurienne II of Savoy and her mother was Countess Gisele of Burgundy.  Her paternal grandfather was Amadeus de Maurienne II and her paternal grandmother is Johanna of Geneva; her maternal grandparents were Count William ("le Grand") I of Burgundy and Etienette de Longwy. She had a brother and a sister, named Amadeus and Agnes. She had a half-brother named Guillaume.  She died on November 18th, 1154.  She was buried in Abbaye De Montmartre, Savoie.

‌Adelaide and "the Fat" were married in a religious ceremony in April 1115 in Paris, Isle de France, France.  They had three sons named "the Younger", Robert and Peter.
