Louis, known as "the Younger", was born about 1121 in Reims, Champagne, France.  "the Younger"'s father was King Louis ("the Fat") Capet VI and his mother was Adelaide de Maurienne of Savoy.  His paternal grandparents were King Philip ("the Fair") Capet I of France and Countess Bertha of Holland; his maternal grandparents were Count Humbert ("the Fat") de Maurienne II of Savoy and Countess Gisele of Burgundy. He had two brothers named Robert and Peter.  He died on September 18th, 1180 in Paris, Isle de France, France.  He was buried on September 19th, 1180 in Barbeau, Isle De France, France.

‌"the Younger" and Adele de Blois were married in a religious ceremony on November 13th, 1160.  They had a son and a daughter, named Philip Augustus and Adele.

They had a daughter named Margaret.


"the Younger"'s third family with Princess Eleanor of Aquitaine

They had three daughters named Alix, Agnes and Mary.
