Peter was born in Reims, Champagne, France.  Peter's father was King Louis ("the Fat") Capet VI and his mother was Adelaide de Maurienne of Savoy.  His paternal grandparents were King Philip ("the Fair") Capet I of France and Countess Bertha of Holland; his maternal grandparents were Count Humbert ("the Fat") de Maurienne II of Savoy and Countess Gisele of Burgundy. He had two brothers named "the Younger" and Robert.  He died before April 10th, 1183 in Palestine, Israèel.  He was buried on April 10th, 1183.


Peter's family with Isabella de Courtenay

‌Peter and Isabella were married in a religious ceremony in 1168 in France.  They had a son and a daughter, named Peter and Alice.
