Louis, known as "the Fat", was born about 1081 in Paris, France.  "the Fat"'s father was King Philip ("the Fair") Capet I of France and his mother was Countess Bertha of Holland.  His paternal grandparents were King Henry Capet I and Anna Agnesa Yaroslavna; his maternal grandparents were Count Floris I of Holland and Princess Gertrude of Saxony. He had a sister named Constansia.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died on August 1st, 1137 in Chãateau De Bâethizy, Paris, Isle De France, France.  He was buried in Saint Denis, Isle De France, France.

‌"the Fat" and Adelaide were married in a religious ceremony in April 1115 in Paris, Isle de France, France.  They had three sons named "the Younger", Robert and Peter.
