Hugh, known as "the Great", was born about 0898 in Paris, Isle de France, France.  "the Great"'s father was King Robert I of France and his mother was Queen Beatrice de Vermandois.  His paternal grandparents were Duke Robert ("the Strong", "Fortis", "le Fort") d'Anjou IV of Neustria and Princess Adelheid de Tours of the Holy Roman Empire; his maternal grandfather was Count Herbert de Vermandois I of Senlis and his maternal grandmother is Beatrice de Morvois. He had a brother and two sisters, named Amaury, Adela and Liegarde.  He died on June 16th, 0956 in Dourdan, Isle De France.  He was buried in Abbaye De St Denis, St Denis, France.


"the Great"'s first family with Princess Hedwige von Sachsen

‌"the Great" and Hedwige were married in a religious ceremony before September 14th, 0938 in Mainz Oder, Ingelheim, Rhineland, Germany.  They had three daughters named Beatrix, Beatrix and Beatrix.
