Etienette was born about 1044 in Aquitaine, France.  Etienette's father was Raymond ("Towhead") Berenger II (III) and her mother was Maud of Hauteville.  Her paternal grandparents were Raymond ("the Elder", "el Viejo") Berenger I (II) and Almodis de la Haute Marche of Barcelona; her maternal grandfather was Duke Robert ("Guiscard", "the Astute") de Hauteville I of Apulia and her maternal grandmother is Princess Sichelgaita of Salerno. She had a brother named "the Great".  She died after 1088.


Etienette's family with Count William ("le Grand") I of Burgundy

‌Etienette and "le Grand" were married in a religious ceremony before 1060.  They had two sons and four daughters, named Raymond, "Tete-Hardi", Ermentrude, Gisele, Maud and Clemence.
