Raymond, known as "Towhead", was born in 1055 in Barcelona, Spain.  "Towhead"'s father was Raymond ("the Elder", "el Viejo") Berenger I (II) and his mother was Almodis de la Haute Marche of Barcelona.  His paternal grandparents were Raimund ("the Crooked") Berenger I and Sancha Sanchez de Castille; his maternal grandfather was Comte Bernard de la Marche I and his maternal grandmother is Countess Amelie de Aubnay. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named William, "le Diable" and Almodis.  He died  due to murdered at the age of 27 in 1082 in Dec 5 1082.


"Towhead"'s family with Maud of Hauteville

‌"Towhead" and Maud were married in a religious ceremony in 1078.  They had a son and a daughter, named "the Great" and Etienette.
