Robert, known as "Guiscard", "the Astute", was born in 1015 in Normandie, France.  "Guiscard", "the Astute"'s father is Sir Tancreed de Hautville and his mother was Fredistina of Normandy.  His paternal grandfather is Lord Odobonus Hautville; his maternal grandparents were Duke Richard ("the Fearless", "Sans Peur") I of Normandy and Papia. He had two brothers named Rabell Tancred and Roger.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 70 on July 17th, 1085 in Near Chephalonia, Greece, Byzantine Empire.


"Guiscard", "the Astute"'s first family with Countess Alberade of Apulia

‌"Guiscard", "the Astute" and Alberade were married in a religious ceremony about 1054 in Normandy, France.  They had a son named Boemond.


"Guiscard", "the Astute"'s second family with Princess Sichelgaita of Salerno

They had three daughters named Sybille, Maud and Matilda Guiscard.
