Alix was born about 1147 in France.  Alix's father was King Louis ("the Younger") Capet VII of France and her mother was Princess Eleanor of Aquitaine.  Her paternal grandparents were King Louis ("the Fat") Capet VI and Adelaide de Maurienne of Savoy; her maternal grandparents were William X of Aquitaine and Eleanor de Rochefoucauld Chatellerault. She had two sisters named Agnes and Mary. She had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Philip Augustus, "Lackland", Adele, Margaret, Matilda, Eleanor and Joanna.  She died in 1195.

‌Alix and Thibaud were married in a religious ceremony about 1164 in France.  They had a daughter named Marguerite.
