Agnes was born about 0987 in Bourgogne.  Agnes' father was King Othon-Guillaume de Macon and her mother was Ermentrude de Roucy of Lombardy.  Her paternal grandparents were King Adalbert of Italy and Gerberga de Macon; her maternal grandparents were Count Renaud de Gournay of Rheims & Roucy and Princess Alberada of Hainault. She had a brother and three sisters, named Renaud, de Poitiers, Mathilda and Gerberge. She had a half-sister named Beatrice.  She died on November 10th, 1068.

‌Agnes and "the Great", "the Grand", "fier de bras" were married in a religious ceremony before March 1018 in France.  They had three sons and two daughters, named William Pierre, William, Peter, Beatrix and Agnes.
