Ermengarde was born in 1018 in Semurenbrionnais, Anjou, France.  Ermengarde's father was Count Fulk ("the Black", "le Noir") de Grisgonelle III of Anjou and her mother was Hildegarde de Lorraine.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Geoffrey ("Grisegonelle") I of Anjou and Adelais de Vermandois; her maternal grandparents were Count William ("Ironarm", Fier-áa-bras) II or IV of Poitou and Emma of Blois.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 58 on March 18th, 1076 in Fleury-sur-Ouche, Anjou, France.


Ermengarde's first family with Count Geoffrey ("Ferreol") de Gatinais IV

‌Ermengarde and "Ferreol" were married in a religious ceremony in 1035 in France.  They had a son and a daughter, named "Rechin" and Hildegarde.


Ermengarde's second family with Prince Robert Capet I

They had a daughter named Hildegard.
