Fulk, known as "the Black", "le Noir", was born on June 21st, 0967 in Anjou, France.  "the Black", "le Noir"'s father was Count Geoffrey ("Grisegonelle") I of Anjou and his mother was Adelais de Vermandois.  His paternal grandparents were Duke Fulk ("le Bon") d'Anjou II of Brittany and Gerberge du Maine; his maternal grandparents were Count Robert of Meaux & Troyes and Countess Adelaide of Burgundy. He had a sister named Gerberga.  He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Foulques and Ermengarde.  He died at the age of 73 on June 21st, 1040 in Anjou, France.


"the Black", "le Noir"'s family with Hildegarde de Lorraine

‌"the Black", "le Noir" and Hildegarde were married in a religious ceremony in 1000 in Anjou, France.  They had a daughter named Ermengarde.
