Mary's father was King Louis ("the Younger") Capet VII of France and her mother was Princess Eleanor of Aquitaine.  Her paternal grandparents were King Louis ("the Fat") Capet VI and Adelaide de Maurienne of Savoy; her maternal grandparents were William X of Aquitaine and Eleanor de Rochefoucauld Chatellerault. She had two sisters named Alix and Agnes. She had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Philip Augustus, "Lackland", Adele, Margaret, Matilda, Eleanor and Joanna.  She died on March 11th, 1198.

‌Mary and "the Liberal" were married in a religious ceremony in 1164.  They had a son and a daughter, named The Troubador Prince and Mary.
