Agnes was born about 1260 in Paris, Seine, Ile-de-France, France.  Agnes' father was King Louis Capet IX and her mother was Marguerite Berenger of Provence.  Her paternal grandparents were King Louis Eliganius ("the Lion") Capet VIII and Princess Blanche of Castile; her maternal grandparents were Raymond Berenger V (IV) and Beatrice de Savoie. She had two brothers and a sister, named Philip, Robert and Marguerite.  She was the youngest of the four children.  She died in 1327 in Citeaux Abbey.

‌Agnes and Robert were married in a religious ceremony about 1279 in Paris, Seine, Ile-de-France, France.  They had a daughter named Jeanne.
