Sybil was born about 1105 in Anjou, France.  Sybil's father was King Fulk ("the Younger", "le Jeune") d'Anjou V of Jerusalem and her mother was Ermengard of Maine.  Her paternal grandparents were King Fulk ("Rechin") d'Anjou IV of Jerusalem and Bertrade de Montfort; her maternal grandparents were Helias of Maine and Agnes of Aquitaine. She had two brothers named Helie and "the Fair", "le bon".  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died in Bethlehem.

‌Sybil and Thierry were married in a religious ceremony in 1134.  They had two sons and a daughter, named Matthew, Mathew and Margaret.
