Alfonso, known as "the Noble", was born on November 11th, 1155 in Soria, Castile.  "the Noble"'s father was King Sancho ("the Desired") III of Castile and his mother was Princess Blanche of Navarre.  His paternal grandparents were King Alfonso ("the Emperor", "Pierre-Raimund") Raimundez VII and Berenguela Berengar of Barcelona; his maternal grandparents were King Garcia ("the Restorer") Ramirez V (VI) of Navarre and Marguerite de l'Aigle.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 58 on October 6th, 1214 in Gutierre Munoz, Avila, Castile.  He was buried in Monasterio De Las Huelgas, Burgos, Castile.


"the Noble"'s family with Princess Eleanor Plantagenet

‌"the Noble" and Eleanor were married in a religious ceremony on September 22nd, 1177 in Burgos, Burgos, Spain.  They had three daughters named Urraca, Blanche and Berengaria.
