In 1841, Jn'n and Mary (both 30) were at Martins Houses, East Bolton and had Hannah (9), William (4), John (2), Ellen (6 mo) and Alice Fishwich (45, F.S.).

After 1843, Jonathan and Mary lived in the Lever district of South Bolton.

In 1851, Jonathan and Mary (44 & 42) were at Canal Street North, Darcy Lever and had Hannah (17), William (14), John (12),  Ellen (10), Joseph (7) and Sarah Ann (1).

In 1861, Jonathan and Mary (53 & 52) were at Knoll Place, Darcy Lever.

In 1871, Jonathan and Mary Buckley (64 & 62) were living at Knoww Place, Darcy Lever with Ellen (29), Levi (18) and oldest son William (33, Wid) with his two children Mary and Phipps (Philip), aged 11 & 6. Cornelius Buckley was a neighbour. 1809 - 1883 Mary Webster 74 74 In 1851, Jonathan and Mary (44 & 42) were at Canal Street North, Darcy Lever and had Hannah (17), William (14), John (12),  Ellen (10), Joseph (7) and Sarah Ann (1).

In 1861, Jonathan and Mary (53 & 52) were at Knoll Place, Darcy Lever. 1834 - 1893 Hannah Buckley 59 59 In 1871, Hannah was 17 and with her parents.

Hannah had left home (married Wiliam) in 1857.

In 1891, Hannah is missing.  Her husband William (55) is retired and possibly terminaly Ill with daughters Mary and Sarah in Blackburn. 1837 - 1904 William Buckley 67 67 In 1841, William (4) was with parent at Martins Houses, East Bolton.

Left home married Nancy Gregory in Jan 1858, but reurned home by 1871, widowed with two children.

In 1861, had wife Nancy (23), daughter Mary and "Mother" Maria, aged 61 with him.  Was this his mother-in-law (as couldn't be his mother)?

19 July 1873, William Buckley (36) son of Jonathan Buckley, weaver, married Ann Holt (35), daughter of Joseph Pollitt, weaver, deceased at the Claremont (Baptist) Chapel, St George's Road, Bolton.

(WARNING: There is another family: Squire Horrocks Buckley and Elizabeth Holt family from Breightmet married in 1865).

In 1881, William and Ann (43 & 42) were at 25 Cross Street, Darcy Lever with Philip (16), Esther H (5), John J (4) and Ben (1)
 1839 - 1890 John Buckley 51 51 In 1841, aged 2 living at Martin's houses, East Bolton

In 1851, John was with parents at Darcy Lever, aged 12.

In 1861, John (22) was at Knoll Place, Darcy Lever, still with his parents.

6 Feb 1868, John, son of Johnathan Buckley married Sarah Swift, daughter of Samuel Hague at Ashton Under Lyne.  This is probably another (TBC)

By 1871, John had left home (married?).  There are no John Buckley marriaged in Bolton between 1861 and 1873.  20 Sep 1874 and 1875 there are marriages to Margaret Flitcroft (son of William) at Farnworth and Sarah Greenhalgh at Bolton Emmanuel.

The 1875 marriage to Sarah Greenhalgh is possible, but there were no children and not on the 1881 census.

In 1851, Ellen (10) was living with parents at Lever Bridge. 1843 - 1918 Joseph Buckley 75 75 Left home (married?) by 1871 1849 - 1851 Sarah Ann Buckley 1 1 1858 - 1927 James Buckley Parkinson 69 69 Grandson of Jonathan, living with family in 1861 1852 - 1912 Levi Buckley 60 60 In 1890, Levi Buckley had a dewlling house at 3 Knoll Place, Darcy Dever. 1838 - 1869 Nancy Gregory 31 31 1860 Mary Buckley In 1871, Aged 11, living in Darcy Lever with Father William (33, wid) and Grandparents.

In 1882, Mary (22), daughter of William married John Thomas Hannett (21) in Sale, Cheshire.  This is probably her, as there is no other Mary, daughter of a William from Cheshire (except Mary daughter of William and Mary from Chester who married Elijah Lavender). 1864 - 1930 Phipps Buckley 65 65 John and Phipps were twins (with adjacent 1864 birth records),

In 1893, Phipps Buckley married Betsy Royle, and they had a daughter Vinetta in 1899.

NOTE Vera Royle Buckley, born 1900 is the daughter of James Arthur Buckley (b.1846, Mossley) and Eleanor Maria Royle who married at Bucklow in 1899.

NOTE Mabel Buckley b.1901 is the daughter of Thomas Pearson Buckley and Clarrissa Royle from Oldham.

In 1901, Phipps and Betsy (36 & 32) were at 22 Homer Street, Tonge with daughter Venetta (2). 1852 - 1923 Jane Ann Noris 71 71 Father is John Norris, a collier 1876 Mary Buckley "Mary Wardley" in 1911, Widow and back with the Buckley family. May (11 and Fred Wardley (9) were with her 1874 Sarah Ellen Buckley 1878 - 1882 Hannah Buckley 4 4 1838 Ann Pollitt (Greenhalgh) Baptised 25 Aug 1838, Ann was the Daughter of Betsy Greenhalgh of Haulgh, Spinster.  Although living with Miles in 1841, Miles was not her father.  Is is possibly Joseph Pollitt (1821-1840) who died in Stockport before the 1841 census.

Ann was married before to HOLT (see 1873 marriage) but recorded her maiden name as GREENHALGH for all 5 of her children (GRO index) and HOLT (Lanc-BMD index).  It seems likely she was born before her father (Joseph POLLITT) married her mother.

In 1907, Esther Hannah Buckley married Robert E Thomas

In 1911, Robert Edward and Esther Hannat Thomas (36 & 35) were at 154 Radcliffe Road, Haulgh, Darcy Lever.  No chilkdren after 3 years of marriage.

In 1921, Robert Edward and Esther Hannah Thomas had Hannah Bibby (b.1885, Bolton) living with them.  No Children. 1877 - 1950 John James Buckley 73 73 In 1911, John James Buckley and Emma (both 34) had been married 2 years, and no children.

In 1871, William and Hannah (36 & 39) were at 35 Back Commission Street (off Blackburn Street). William an Iron Turner.  They only had John W (1) with them and James was living with Moss family as a stepson.

In 1881, William and Hannah (45 & 49) are in Blackburn with James (24), Mary E (9) and Sarah A (5).  James is back and now John W is missing.

In 1891, William was only 55, so may have retired due to Ill health. He was deceased in 1892 when daughter Mary Ellen married. 1859 - 1861 William Parkinson 2 2 1871 Mary Ellen Parkinson Mary was born in Bolton, although lived in Blackburn

In 1881, Mary E (9) was with her parents at 61 Canterbury St, Blackburn.

6 Aug 1892, Mary Ellen married James Gerrold Harrison, the boy next door, an Artist.  Her father was named as William Parkinson, Mechanic, Deceased. 1875 Sarah Ann Parkinson Sarah was born and lived in Blackburn.

In 1881, Sarah A (5) was with her parents at 61 Canterbury St, Blackburn.

Sarah married John Wareing (1874-1917) in 1894 at Blackburn (civil marriage) 1870 - 1874 John William Parkinson 3 3 In 1881, John was not with his parents.  He probably died in Blackburn, in 1873, aged 3. 1873 - 1873 Thomas Parkinson 1876 Emma Mather Emma is the youngest daughter of Samuel Mather and Ellen Wood of Radcliffe 1838 - 1901 George Openshaw 62 62 In 1871, George and Ellen lived at 221 Radcliff Road, Darcy Lever.

In 1901, another Emma Openshaw (same age), daughter of James married Robert Holden at Bolton All Souls.

19 Jan 1869 Thomas was burned by an explosion of powder.
