Albert was born on December 14th, 1910 in Royton.1  Albert's father was Albert Buckley and his mother was Emily Shaw.  His paternal grandparents were George Buckley and Eliza Hampson. He had two brothers and a sister, named Fred, Wilfred and Edith.  He was the second oldest of the four children.
