In 1841, Esther was recorded as Eliza (35) on the census. There was also Squire Scowcroft (13) present, which was her illegitimate son. She was Esther in 1851 and later.

Eliza was a relative of Squire Scowcroft.
Eliza and Cornelius were married in a religious ceremony on March 4th, 1838 in Bolton witnessed by James Booth & James Liptrot.3 They had three sons and three daughters, named Joseph, Josiah, Ephriam, Mary, Martha and Sarah. There are no more children.

It's strange that the GRO and Lancashire BMD has a birth for Sarah A, but no Martha. This must be an error, as there was no census or death for Sarah A, and yet we have a Martha instead!
