16 March 1854, Joseph was baptised as a young adult, aged 14. Both parents are named and there is no Joseph birth registered in Bolton, so this must be him !
In 1861, Joseph (22), a cotton weaver, is the oldest son, living with parents at Knoll Place, Darcy Lever.
6 May 1865, Joseph, a power loom weaver, is mentioned in the Bolton Chronical. He has emigrated to Pittsburgh, USA in late 1863. He attended Duff's Mercantile College at Pittsburgh, PA, USA and graduated in April 1865 (see news clip).
28 Dec 1873, Joseph Buckley, a baker, son of Cornelius a labourer, married Jane Eliza Brown at St Giles, Oxford. This is another person who had brothers George, Richard and John who also married at Oxford.
Left home (married?) by 1871. There are 39 marriage records for Joseph Buckley in Lancashire between 1861 and 1871, but only one in Bolton. Another Joseph married Lydia Shaw in 1870 (Civil marriage). This was Joseph's cousin, son of Johnathan. There are no adult deaths in Bolton in this period.
In 1880 Joheph Buckley (41) is married to Emma (32) and is a Hotel Keeper Callowhill Street, Philadelphia. This is probably Joseph Buckley (son of John) & Emma Boyd who married 1-Aug-1864 at Sheffield.
There's a Joseph (51) and Mally (49) living in Oldham above town with mother Esther Buckley (77) in 1891. Even though the ages match, this cannot be the same Joseph unless his mother was resurrected from the dead!
