Jonathan (Edward) Openshaw

Jonathan was born on April 17th, 1859 in Swinton and his baptism took place in April 1871 conducted by Daniel Stones.¹

Jonathan's father was Job Openshaw Snr and his mother was Nancy Beswick. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Openshaw and Catherine (Cassandra) Haslam; his maternal grandparents were James Beswick and Alice Booth. He had three brothers and five sisters, named James, Job, William, Jane, Alice, Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth. He was the seventh oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 81 in 1940 in Salt Lake County/City.²
