Thomas Openshaw

Thomas was born on September 26th, 1786 in Darcy Lever and his baptism took place on November 5th, 1786 at Christ Church, Ainsworth.¹

Thomas' father was James Openshaw and his mother was Mary Holt. He had two brothers named James and Richard. He was the youngest of the three known children. He died at the age of 66 in January 1853 in Ainsworth. His burial was on January 5th, 1853 in Ainsworth.²

General Notes
- 26 Sep 1813, Thomas Openshaw was a Paper Maker when he married Catherine Haslam (and when all the children were baptised).
  
  1813 to 1818, Jonathan, Alice and Mary were baptised at St Matthew, Little Lever. The abode was given as Farnworth, Darcy Lever and Manchester (although possibly all the same home).
  
  1823 to 1826, sons Thomas, William and John were baptised at St Peter's, Bolton. The abode was Tonge, Thomas a Paper Maker.
  
  In 1822, son Job was baptised at Ringley, abode Bolton. Thomas was a paper maker, but the mother is shown as Jane. This is another Thomas Openshaw and Jane (Jenny) Tomlin family whom between 1803 and 1827 had 11 children. This Thomas and Jane family (60 & 55) were at Green Street, Little Bolton in 1841 before moving to Wales.
  
  In 1851, Thomas (69), born Darcy Lever was a Vitriol Maker living with his daughter Catherine (23) at Farnworth.
