James was from Liverpool when he married Bridget, so this is where he may be from. However, there are other family ties to Neston and it seems likely he is closely related to Joseph Lewis (1796-1878), both Coal Miners with families in Neston. Both families moved to live in Whiston (near Prescot), Lancashire.
James was killed in a mining accident. He died as a result of falling to the bottom of a coal pit as Ness, Neston when he fell out of a basket to the bottom while descending into the pit.
In 1851, his Wife and three children were at Ness, Cheshire
Bridget Lewis moved to Rainford, to be with her daugter Elizabeth, where she died in 1860.
1802 - 1860
Bridget

There is another Bridget born about 1916 (in Wexford, Ireland) who married John Lewis, and they also lived on the Liverpool Road, in Neston.
In 1841, Bridget Lewis was 40 (not from Cheshire) and had Elizabeth (11), Richard (7) and John (3) with her at Ness, Neston.
Bridget married John Ellison in Birkenhead in 1850. In 1851, Bridget "Ellison" was 48 and living at Ness. She must have seperated as John wasn't with her, and she later reverted to Lewis.
"Bridget Lewis" died 18 March 1860 at Hardings Row, Rainford, aged 64. Widow of James Lewis, Collier. Her daughter, Elizabeth Lawley of Hardings Row was in attendance.

Williams
The children's Baptism records show Samuel Williams lived at "Moor and Saltney, Hawarden" in 1764 and when the children were baptised. He was the son of John Williams
Son Samuel's first child was buried at Halkyn (near Bagillt). As a Samuel and Ann of expected age are buried at Bagillt, then this is probably them. Although Samuel and Ann are buried in the 1840s, there is no matching 1841 Census record for them
In 1791, another Samuel Williams and Ann Millington were married in Hawarden..
1791 - 1866
Mary
Williams
75
75
There is no obvious single mmary Williams in Northop, Flintshire, so it is likely she married, and the death in 1866 (registered at Holywell) is of another married woman.
Since brother William was at Wepre, then the Mary Bethell, aged 50 in 1851 could be her.

Robert was the illegitimate son of Catherine Lewis, baptised 20 Jan 1805.
In 1825, Robert married Catherine Dunkan at Chester.
In 1841, Robert and Catherine (both 37) were at Little Neston with Thomas, Joseph, Mary and Ellen (13, 12, 11 & 7). Also present was William Duncan. Another two Duncan families were neighbours, probably Catherin's brother, parents and other siblings (tbc).

James is the son of William Lawley, also a Collier.
James was a coal miner in Little Neston. The Ness and Little Neston mines closed by 1855 after the silting of the Dee Estuary made it difficult to move coal in bulk. James had to move elsewhere to find work.
In 1852, James (33, widower) a collier of Neston married Elizabeth Lewis (22) of Ness.
In 1871, James and Elizabeth (51 & 39) are in Rainford with Joseph, James and John Lawley (lodgers) and Richard and Richard Lewis (37 & 11, assumed father and son).
In 1881, James and Elizabeth (62 & 49) are in Little Neston with John (18) and Elizabeth (11)
In 1891, James and Elizabeth (66 & 54) are in Little Neston (both born Ness)

Elizabeth appears to have married a much older Robert Roberts at Caernarvonshire. Towever, the 1855 marriage shows Robert was 32 when he married Elizabeth (28)
In 1861, Robert and Elizabeth (80 & wife 33) were still at Llanbeblig.

In 1851, William's daughters Ann and Elizabeth (borh born Hawarden) were living together in Caernarfon. This helps to confirm we have the correct Anne, daughter of William Williams.
Welsh Parish Records show the baptisms with Elizabeth CONNAH as the mother. The Flintshire records (and marriage) show William was a shepherd.
3 Feb 1819, William Williams of Broad Lane, Hawarden; Bachelor and Shepherd married Elizabeth Connah of Pentrobin, spinster. Joseph Connah was a witness.
In 1841, William (50) and his daughter Elizabeth (14) were still at Broad Lane, Hawarden.
