Ann was born in 1776 in Ormskirk and her baptism took place on October 6th, 1776.1  Ann's father was Robert Whalley and her mother was Ellen (Nell) Kingsley.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Whalley and Alice Whalley. She had three brothers and two sisters, named John, Richard, Thomas, Alice and Alice.  She was the second youngest of the six children.
