Eunice's father was Thomas Lewis and her mother was Alice Emma Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were William Lewis and Catherine Whalley. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Thomas, Edward, Alice, Edna and Jessie. She was the fourth oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 76 in October 1983 in St. Helens.²
