- In 1841, Ellen (59) was a farmer with her son Joseph, a pipe maker and Joseph Heyes (7) at Maggots Nook.
  
  In 1851, James Files (45, probably brother of Ellen) and his wife Hannah had the Brewers Arms at Rainford. Neighbours were Henry and Martha Smith (Ellen's daughter).
