Dervorgilla MacDougal was born about 1218 in Fotheringhay Castle, Galloway, Scotland.  Dervorgilla MacDougal's father was Alan de Galloway and her mother was Princess Margaret Huntingdon of Scotland.  Her paternal grandparents were Lord Roland of Galloway and Elena de Morville; her maternal grandparents were Earl David of Huntingdon and Maud de Meschines. She had a sister named Alicia.  She was the older of the two children.  She died in Kemston, Bedfordshire, England.  She was buried in New Abbey, Galloway, Wigtownshire, Scotland.
