Ada was born about 1104 in Huntingdon, England.  Ada's father was Earl William de Warenne II of Surrey and her mother was Elizabeth de Crepi.  Her paternal grandparents were William de Warenne and Princess Gundred de Normandie of England; her maternal grandparents were Count Hugh ("the Great", "le Grand") de Crepi of Vermandois and Adelaide of Vermandois. She had two brothers and a sister, named William, Rainald and Gundred. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named "Bossu", Waleran, Maud and Isabel.  She died in 1178.

‌Ada and Henry Canmore were married in a religious ceremony in England.  They had two sons and four daughters, named "The Lion", David, Marjory, Ada, Marjory and Margaret.
