Adelaide was born in France.  Adelaide's father was King Robert ("the Pious") Capet II and her mother was Constance de Toulouse.  Her paternal grandparents were King Hugh Capet of France and Adela of Aquitaine; her maternal grandfather was William Taillefer III and her maternal grandmother is Arsinde de Anjou. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Henry, "the Old", Robert, Adelaide Havoise, Constance and Hadewide.  She died on January 8th, 1079 in Monastáere De L'Ordre De St. Benoist, Messines, , France.  She was buried in Monastáere De L'Ordre De St. Benoist, Messines, , France.

‌Adelaide and "the Pious" were married in a religious ceremony about 1028 in Paris, Seine, France.  They had two sons and a daughter, named "the Peaceable", "de Fries" and Matilda.
