Baldwin, known as "the Peaceable", was born in 1030 in Flandres, France.  "the Peaceable"'s father was Baldwin ("the Pious") de Flanders V and his mother was Princess Adelaide Capet.  His paternal grandparents were Count Baldwin ("Fairbeard", "le Barbu") de Flanders IV and Otgive de Luxembourg; his maternal grandparents were King Robert ("the Pious") Capet II and Constance de Toulouse. He had a brother and a sister, named "de Fries" and Matilda.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 40 on July 17th, 1070.


"the Peaceable"'s family with Countess Richilda of Hainault & Namur

‌"the Peaceable" and Richilda were married in a religious ceremony in 1055.  They had a son named Baldwin.
