Gundred was born about 1063 in Normandy, France.  Gundred's father was King William ("the Conqueror") I of England and her mother was Matilda of Flanders.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Robert ("the Devil", "the Magnificent") II of Normandy and Herleva de Falaise; her maternal grandparents were Baldwin ("the Pious") de Flanders V and Princess Adelaide Capet. She had a brother and two sisters, named "Beauclerc", "Fine Scholar", Magdalene and Adela. She had two half-brothers named William and William.  She died on May 27th, 1085 in Castle Acre, Acre, Norfolk, England.  She was buried in Priory, Lewes, Sussex, England.

‌Gundred and William were married in a religious ceremony before 1077 in Normandy, France.  They had a son and a daughter, named William and Edith.
